I wish I was Lindsay Lohan
I do. Because if I was, I would totally check myself into the hospital with exhaustion.
Because I think I am. Exhausted that is.
Two of my kids have been running a fever in the 102 range. Now I am feverish. My glands are huge. I have had horrible sinus headaches.
Did I tell you that I started ritalin? Well, I did, and so far, so good, but it dehydrates me and I tend to drink zero glasses of water per day. I mean, that is not an exaggeration. Zero. So I’ve been trying to drink as much as I can and it seemed to be working but now I’ve been taking some sinus medicine and it helped my sinus problems but I think it has worked with the ritalin to make the sahara because now I am so thirsty and my lips are chapped and I am so weak that I am just slumped over in my computer chair right now and the thought of going upstairs makes me want to die. And I’m having a lot of pain in my hips. I’m not sure why though, but why not.
And on top of the fact that my body is shutting down, I am still waiting for rural development to approve my loan and I am supposed to close on Friday and I have been so stressed about money and moving..god..the moving. I can’t even think about it. And every five minutes someone calls to set up an appointment and one of my SWers quit or was fired or something and so now we are getting a new one that just graduated from college and has never worked at all and I really want to quit doing foster care and Geo has to talk me off the ledge, seriously, about once a day.
I probably should go over to urgent care and get hooked up to a big IV but I don’t like needles and besides I don’t think I should drive. Which is a problem because I still have to pick up Meredith and Bug and Bug is supposed to go to cheerleading and I wish my dad would answer his stupid IM so I can get him to come rescue me. And I know, I’m the captain of this plane or ship or whatever and I have to be strong, but who is going to cook dinner? And pack up the mountains of shit? And drive Bug to cheerleading? I don’t know.
Anyone want to come over?
I feel awful. Seriously. If you can really have exhaustion, this must be what it feels like. And by the way, I would like to say a big F you to my lender who said, Oh, I know we said 3500 in her account but actually we need 3578. Which wasn’t nice considering every penny I have is sitting in my checking account not being able to be used AND I had to sell my Cubs tickets in order to have enough money to close on the house. Which was sad considering it would have been the first time I could have taken the kids to Wrigley.
Also, I am with you Jess. How can you audition for Legally Blonde and not know the lyrics? Snowbaby knows most of the lyrics. HELLLO. I totally should have gone to that audition, especially since I would have been semi-famous and I could have totally been hospitalized today.
Oh God. I am soooo sick.

Oh dear! If I still lived in Naper+ville, (where I went to high school) you can be certain that I’d be your volunteer chaffeur and chef for the evening. As it is, all I can do is send lots of healing thoughts for you and the kids from North Alabama.
You’ve GOT to drink water - lots of it - so bottom’s up! And I’m thinking that Pizza*Hut is cooking and delivering dinner tonight. One less thing.
As far as the packing, it doesn’t have to happen today and when it does, how about a packing party? Invite everyone over, serve them pizza (Hi again P.Hut!), give them bubble wrap and tape, and turn them loose.
As for our beloved Cubbies, maybe you can make up for missing the game by attending a WORLD SERIES game at Wrigley! Tee hee! I am giddy with happiness at the thought!
Take good care of yourself and keep us updated on everything.

your experience of taking Ritalin is important to me to hear about because my 15yo doesn’t articulate his issues at all so it helps me a lot to know what it feels like to take this drug. to which paypal account can I donate $78?

Oh man, you have so much on your plate right now. Ok, if I was in your position this is what I would do. Go to the kitchen and fill the biggest bottle or cup you have with water. Carry it with you for the rest of the day and force yourself to drink a fair amount every fifteen minutes. Then, make a pot of coffee. The only way I get through days like that is with lots of coffee. And ask your dad to pick up the girls so you can stay home. In terms of packing, it can wait until tomorrow, and for dinner, have the kids help make something easy, like sandwiches. This won’t necessary make you better, but it might help you through it!

Wait, is coffee bad if you are on Ritalin and cold meds? If so, nm that advice!

Ritalin does NOT mix well with cold meds. Don’t take both together.
And seriously, call for help cause you need it.

Aw, I’m sorry you’re all sick! I wish I could come over and help. I totally would if you lived in Chicago. And speaking of Chitown, sorry you had to sell your cubs tickets. But you know you’ll spin your way out here eventually and see the cubbies again!

If I lived nearby I’d offer to help. I can always phone and nag you like a mother. LOL. Take care of you too.

get thee to the doctor!!
If you can’t drink enough water to keep you hydrated, then you need some help, needle or no.
Sleep is a very important thing. If you don’t take care of yourself now, you’ll only get worse, and take longer to get better.

Hey,
First time commenting here, I think. We are “practically” neighbors. So Hi neighbor!
If your hips hurt, it could possibly be that you need the water or gatorade or some fluid to keep your joint fluid levels up. I ran into that problem when my baby was born. Also, take come Vitamin C. My chiro told me that would help with joint pain as it helps with cell regeneration.
I would volunteer to come help you out if I wasn’t in the middle of a 2 month bathroom renovation that I am hoping gets done this decade.
Seriously though, email me if you need help in the future, you aren’t that far away and no I am not a stalker, I have included my blog info and my email address.

gah! I am just now sort of getting wee bit better from having what you describe for over two weeks now. But Cole has been taking care of me and the kids both. Wish I could send her to you now. Get better asap.
Chiropractic sometimes helps my sinus issues a bit. If you have the time/money.
