Lost
I lost my voice. Never a good thing to lose when you have four children.
Bubba woke up multiple times last night. I had a dream that a woman gave birth to six babies and they were giving them to foster parents. But I already had Snowbaby so they didn’t let me have one and I was upset.
Butterfly ate the poptarts that were for breakfast in the middle of the night. I think I am going to get one of those doorbell alarms that ding when the kids leave their bedroom. I’m also going to put a lock on the pantry. And a big bowl of fruit and granola bars that the big girls pick out that they can get whenever they want. I want her to feel secure about food, but I can’t have them roaming around in the middle of the night eating junk. I don’t care if they eat in the middle of the night, but I want it to be healthy and I want to know when they are up and roaming.
I want my voice.
Off to finish the rest of the house. Got a therapist visiting for Bug tonight.

Where do you get one of those doorbell things? That sounds like a great idea!

Hey Baggage, have you ever thought of writing a book? The way you blog, you could probably crank out a book really fast! I’ve heard of several bloggers who ended up as published authors… you could self-publish on Lulu.com because it is free, and advertise the book on this blog! I bet you’d sell hundreds!

I talked to a foster mom a while back who used an interesting technique to deal with food issues. Whenever a new kid first came to the house, the first thing they got to do was fill a box with nonperishable food items from the pantry. They were allowed to keep that box in their room, under their bed, wherever they wanted so they’d know they had food.

I think that sounds like an excellent plan…doorbells and the bowl of food and all.
I hope your voice comes back soon. Eeek!

They have door alarms at Toys R Us. We were going to get one before T moved in but soon realized that sleep was his favorite thing. He goes to bed before us and, except for the night-time pee is up well after us.

Wow you have some energy lady! You’ve accomplished so much!
Sounds like things are settling back down. Hope things go well with the charts. You really are an inspiration as a parent: I second the writing idea.

Daaaaaaaaaamn. Look at YOU supermom!
I don’t have any money right now, but when I do have money I’ll send stuff for the three new ones.
You’re doing a good thing. A REALLY good thing. Hang in there.
I feel so bad for Bubba. Maybe it’s because Wallace is a boy, but I just want to come and get him.

Hey, Baggage! I just wanted to tell you again how awesome I think you are for creating family for yourself, as well as for people who might not otherwise have a family!
Much love from GA, where it is FINALLY starting to warm up

those alarms are loud as all heck, we have one on the front door and it lets the neighbors down the street know when we forget to turn it off
