Ugh.
I’m in a bad mood.
I feel horrible. My lips are horribly chapped, my nose is raw and runny. My throat hurts, I have no voice. I’m tired.
There is something going on in the kid’s case and no one will give me a straight answer. It’s not something confidential either..it is a legal question and I can’t get them to say “Yes” or “No.” A caseworker who I have been friendly with in the past has been kind of mean to me the past two days. They are giving me a hard time about daycare, even though they said I was absolutely entitled because I work at home. And even though I am just sending one child.
I am just annoyed. I’m tired and sick. I have work to do, but I’m tired and sick. I’m frustrated.
That’s all.

You are accomplishin a lot over there, you have a right to feel tired, sick and annoyed. We’re all pulling for you in the ethernet, and hopefully the people who are making it difficult for you will look beyond themselves and realize you’re working hard and deserve a little something.
I hope you get a chance to take a nap and recharge. Drink a lot of water and juice, so you don’t get dehydrated.

You and I need to get together and just bitch. I’m annoyed with blogging, though. Does that count?

Just remember, that you have the right to say “no” to these kids. If the county isn’t giving you adequate support, you do have the right to send them back.
I know this is a decision that nobody likes to make, but it is an option if you absolutely need it.

Hey, just wanted to pop in and say hang in there. I’ve been following your blog for several months now, especially with this new set of kids, and I’m not sure I’d have been able to do some of the things you’ve had to deal with. I admire the way you’ve handled things. I’m sorry the county is giving you such a rough time. I bet that IS frustrating. I’m going back to lurking now. =)

This is off topic.. But keep meaning to ask you for the link to the girl that was selling all of her shoes. I loved her blog, and can’t find the post where you talked about her.. Thanks!

At the risk of sounding ass-vicey, DRINK SOME WATER!!! That won’t fix the meanie worker or straighten out the legal issues, but you’ll probably feel better (it was the chapped lips that gave you away ) - and help your voice. My old choir director used to admonish us all the time - hydration, hydration, hydration!
Hang in there…

Hi. Can’t help you with the state or your kids, but discovered something for sore throat today cuz mine is about to kill me. Try putting about a half teaspoon of cayenne pepper into a cup, add hot water. Sip it. Or wait til it is warm, not too hot, and gargle with it. It will not completely cure you, but you will kiss the ground cayenne pepper grew on I tellya. At least that is how I feel. Who knew!!
